A very dear friend brought me this beautiful yarn after she took a trip to Austin, Texas.
It is cashmere and is begging me to make it into lace, so the pattern search is on!

Aaackkk.. broken strand of yarn on the edge of a beloved hand knit sweater! I am threading a cable through the stitches in hope that I can unravel a row or two and refinish the edge.
I must be becoming a bag lady.
My next project is a bag to be felted.
I am using more yarn from Green Mountain Spinnery, this time a grey wool called Yarn Over.
They take the leftover bits and spin it into new yarn. Kind of recycled yarn.
There are bits of color in the yarn if you look closely. Green, blue, purple and red.
Gotta love it!

Have to love blocking something knitted in the round.
Hope the other side looks good too!
Slow but steady.
Trying to decide what type handles will best complement this design.
Funny, after being so outspoken about becoming a tote, the yarn is not making suggestions.
When I ordered this yarn, I had a surplice style sweater in mind and spent a lot of time planning just that.
However, once the yarn arrived, it told me (in that way only yarn can) that it really preferred to become a simple fair isle style tote.
After some discussion and swatching and more discussion the yarn won and is on its way to totedom.
I may be a pushover, but it seems the yarn always wins…
One of my favorite yarns is Cotton Comfort, an organic cotton-fine wool blend from the Green Mountain Spinnery.
I was able to purchase a number of skeins on sale in beautiful Leaf green along with a few skeins in light blue.
I can’t wait to get this yarn on my needles.
